The 6 tracks of BOXT EP are the first offering from electronic duo OtherChannels. Hip-hop’s ethics on sampling and structures are firmly in place here, keeping the heads noddin, however the reverb drenched location recordings add a somewhat more immersive flavour. Groove driven beats and melodic vocal samples contrast against saturated tape loops for a hazy lofi trip that lands the listener somewhere seemingly unfamiliar.
