For the last OneFiveEight Exhibition I wanted to experiment with some screen printing. I love the textures that are achievable with screen printing, different papers can create a wide rage of results.
Fine liner drawing
First I drew my design using fine liner pens. Inspiration for my design came from a David Attenborough programme on a lazy mid-winter Sunday afternoon.
2 layered screen print
My design uses two colours, the waves in the background and the Platypus on top. This means each piece had to be printed twice, waiting for the layer before to dry first. I’m not very familiar with this process so I messed up a few prints, but I did end up with 5 usable prints.
