Tank Poster

TANKPETROL – Bio

After braving the cold wastelands of Poland, Tank decided to park up in Manchester with his weapons of choice: spraycans, stencils and secret technique. Initially working on canvases, Tank found himself surrounded and influenced by graffiti and soon started to create work with street art elements, but a unique Tank flavor. Tank creates work inspired by women’s portraits, mixed with geometric shapes and animals. Using a combination of stencils, fonts and traditional paint, Tank is comfortable working across variety of media and projects that include painting, customising, creating large scale murals, interior design and carpentry.

No matter what form he works in, Tank’s work always retains a finest quality. Resident artist at Sketch City and Polish Invad Arts Collective, Tank has gone on to be commissioned by Sven Vath, Channel4, Diesel, Carhartt, San Disk and Red Bull to name a few. Tank has painted live at several UK and international festivals, including: Kendal Calling, Mad Ferret, Eurocultured, D-percussion, Snowbombing Austria, Out House project, Way Out West in Sweden and many more…. Tank has also exhibited internationally, starting off exhibiting at Upper Space Gallery – the first UK street-art gallery in the North West and going on to have packed out shows in Halifax and Poland as well as group shows in The Place Hotel, The Urbis Art Fair in Manchester and Polish InvadArts in Leeds. Tank can be found in his studio in Manchester carefully cutting stencils into the small hours for commissions and walls that look like they need a bit of attention. 2012 can only get bigger and better for Tank.
